Policy engagement
RCESDH works at the interface of research, policy and practice, supporting governments to design, implement and evaluate more equitable health policies and programmes. The Centre provides technical assistance to state governments, convenes policy dialogues, and collaborates with multilateral agencies, academic institutions and civil society to translate evidence into action. Equally important is its commitment to public engagement through monthly public health colloquia, policy briefs, media articles, interactive learning events and community outreach initiatives. By fostering dialogue among researchers, policymakers, practitioners and citizens, RCESDH seeks to strengthen public understanding of health equity and ensure that research informs both policy decisions and broader societal conversations.
By making abstract concepts such as the social determinants of health, well-being, and equity more accessible, the Centre has been able to promote a more broad understanding of health equity among diverse groups, including students, youth and members of civil society. Games developed at RCESDH, grounded in our research, illustrate complex concepts in an immersive and experiential manner, with the aim of contributing to the development of sensitive, empathetic practitioners of medicine and public health, as well as thoughtful creators of health policy.
